Kisspeptin – COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH PEPTIDE FOR REPRODUCTIVE AND NEUROENDOCRINE SIGNALING STUDIES

Scientific Overview of Kisspeptin

Kisspeptin (also known as Kisspeptin-10 or Metastin Fragment) is a synthetic decapeptide derived from the larger KISS1 protein, a key regulator in neuroendocrine and reproductive signaling research. It is recognized as a potent activator of the GPR54 (Kiss1R) receptor, which plays a central role in gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) regulation and hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal (HPG) axis studies.

In in-vitro and in-vivo experimental research, Kisspeptin has been studied for its influence on:

• GnRH Neuronal Activation – investigation of Kisspeptin’s stimulation of GnRH secretion via GPR54 receptor pathways (Seminara et al., 2003)
• Reproductive Axis Regulation – exploration of hypothalamic and pituitary peptide interactions in fertility signaling models (Messager et al., 2005)
• Neuroendocrine Function and Peptide Receptor Dynamics – study of Kisspeptin’s integration in central nervous system hormone regulation (Oakley et al., 2009)

Kisspeptin serves as a core peptide for neuroendocrine and reproductive biology research, helping to elucidate mechanisms underlying hormone release, receptor signaling, and peptide–neuron interactions.
